It will take 75 hits to break an Iron Pickaxe. This means you can successfully mine 15 nodes of limestone or iron, as each takes 5 hits to be mined.
You can mine 7 Copper Ores, remaining 5 hits, 2 Iron Pickaxes = 150 hits = 15 Copper Ores.
*Tested with limestone nodes, iron ores and copper ores; may be different when used as a weapon
Recycling[]
On the Recycler, a Iron Pickaxe can be recycled into Scrap Metal, Common Plank, and Duct Tape in 10 minutes and 1 second at an appropriate level of Melee Weapons recycling skill.
